This is the second course in a two-course sequence. As such, it is focused on improving and enhancing the working skills begun in TST&D I, while exploring in greater depth the integration of both analog and digital technology into theatrical sound systems. Presentation and discussion of case studies will introduce the underlying principles of system design for either playback or reinforcement of a live theatrical event. Advanced techniques for producing effective content will be experienced through studio based projects. The final project will integrate skills in both content and system design with event analysis, technical drafting and knowledge of system components. A practical lab experience will be included as part of this course.
