This course is an overview of selected theories and research findings in social psychology. Emphasis will be placed on the self (identity, social perception and cognition, self presentation and impression management); social behavior and relationships (interpersonal attraction and relationships, aggression, prosocial behavior, prejudice); group processes (cohesion, conformity, and structure); and the use of social psychology to solve social problems. This course will be conducted in the seminar-lecture style, and active participation is required.
