ENVE 6062 - Engineering Computational Methods

Students will be introduced through MatLab to different computational methods, modeling and types of error. The computational methods will include Root solving techniques and optimization; Matrix algebra and solving systems of equations; Integration and differentiation techniques, ordinary differential equations. Statistical analysis and experimental design using Matlab include data exploration and plotting, descriptive statistical quantities, random numbers, probability distributions, hypothesis testing; curve fitting through regression analysis, polynomial, spline techniques, sinusoidal functions. Design of experiment will cover single-factor (ANOVA), and multiple-factor factorial experiments.
