ENSM 6082 - CCM Wind Orchestra

Institution:
University of Cincinnati-Main Campus
Subject:
Description:
CCM Wind Symphony is a professional level wind band that offers training in ensemble rehearsal and performance. This professional preparation includes exposure to a diverse body of repertoire, as well as ongoing interaction with notable composers, conductors, and soloists. Wind Symphony performs three concerts per semester at both CCM and off campus venues. This ensemble's repertoire places special emphasis on the music of contemporary composers, as well as the standard wind band repertoire. Wind Symphony utilizes a flexible instrumentation determined by the music being performed, as well as employing a rotation system of part assignments where possible. Ensemble participation is by audition only, and is designed to help its members show sensitivity and empathy to their colleagues, while contributing their own interpretive ideas and responding to those of others
