What does sustainable development mean? This course will examine the relationship between economics, society, and the environment. Students will study different forms of governance at varying scales - international, State, and local - with a view to assessing how the market and development intersect. Some of the topics covered in this course include: the political economy of environmental policies, the growing economy in green technologies, natural resource management and distribution, corporate social and environmental responsibility, and the importance of gender equality for sustainable development.
