An in-depth look at the service and maintenance procedures for 1. The three different types of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV)s. 2. Multi-Mode Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV)s, 3. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)s, and 4. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV)s. Topics include high voltage batteries, DC to AC inverters, DC to DC converters, electric motor types, plug-In charging systems, thermal management of the high voltage systems, battery, the passenger cabin, braking/regenerative braking systems, and Atkinson cycle Internal Combustion Engines (ICE).Upon completion of this course, student can sit in on "xEV Technician Electrical Safety Certification - Level 2 Standards" certification provided by ASEUpon completion of this course and the required work experience as set by ASE, student can sit in on "L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist" certification provided by ASE.
