Study of the evolution and development of character dance from the social and court dances of European countries from 1500 to the present day. Students will learn to put character and folk dance in historical, cultural and stylistic contexts, to analyze and critically evaluate these dance forms and to defend individual critiques. Prerequisites: Full Major status in BALLE OR Department Consent.
