Designed for students desiring to learn about first aid, including instruction in the principles and practices in emergency care and first aid procedures for injuries and safety precautions. Successful completers will be certified through the American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Explain the process of preventing potential threatening situations in a given scenario at the introductory level. 2. Recognize & respond to an emergency in a given situation at the introductory and mastery level. 3. Apply the knowledge of the first aid procedures by assessing & deciding the level of intervention for administering care in a given situation at the mastery level. 4.
