Emphasizes the practical application of basic research practices to tests of criminological theory as well as law enforcement and corrections problems. Students gain the knowledge necessary to interpret pertinent research in their area of interest. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Examine the link between theory and research. 2. Outline, describe, and apply various techniques of collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and research. 3. Demonstrate advanced inductive and deductive reasoning skills. 4. Apply appropriate written and verbal communication.
