Having completed both the observational and limited hands-on scanning during clinical rotations, in conjunction with successful completion of all core ultrasound and general education courses, the student will now focus on obtaining entry-level skills and knowledge in the Cardiac Lab. In this final semester, the students will undertake intensive clinical training utilizing all prior skills obtained in didactic and practical application. The student will refine scanning skills and gain experience. Execution of sonographic examinations will be performed under direct and indirect supervision of the qualified clinical instructor. The student will be solely in the clinical environment preparing for their future career. By integrating didactic and laboratory skills learned in the classroom and lab, the student will improve their practical skills and overall knowledge necessary to obtain an entry-level position in the field of Cardiac Sonography.
