Each class examines the ancient Egyptian intellectual world as shown by a major monument (for example, the Great Pyramid), along with its cultural background. Daily life, as well as the visual and symbolic aspects of the civilization, are illustrated with slides and charts. The reading emphasizes historical, literary, and religious texts in translation.
