The following semester, honors students are required to take this special seminar, which culminates in each student writing a large feature (6,000 to 8,000 words, or a 15- to 20-minute multimedia or broadcast piece), completing the capstone. The student defends his or her work orally before at least two members of the full-time faculty and possibly a member of the profession.
