Infrastructure systems such as transportation, telecommunication, and electric power systems have become a crucial aspect of modern society. Investigates techniques from control theory and optimization that help develop and manage these systems. Although each system has unique features that need to be understood, course considers how some tools have general applicability. Studies concepts such as stability, robustness, resource allocation, stakeholder equity, and arguments for centralization/decentralization of components. Knowledge of infrastructure systems, control theory, system dynamics, network analysis required.
