Following identification of a lead compound, there is optimization of structures for pharmaceutical properties, bioavailability, and safety. Subject relies on actual cases presented by the scientist(s) involved in discovery and drug development. A major goal is to analyze the cases and determine how the discovery and development process might be influenced by new and future technologies.
