Institution:
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Subject:
Description:
Single- and multiple-degree-of-freedom vibration problems, using matrix formulation and normal mode superposition methods. Time and frequency domain solution techniques including convolution and Fourier transforms. Applications to vibration isolation, damping treatment, and dynamic absorbers. Analysis of continuous systems by exact and approximate methods. Applications to buildings, ships, aircraft and offshore structures. Vibration measurement and analysis techniques.
