This 4-credit course has a theory and laboratory component. The theory component focuses on physical examination and health assessment, and its place in the clinical decision-making process. Students will identify strategies for health teaching and for health promotion. Nursing activities are explored that facilitate adaptive responses in well, acute, and chronically ill clients across the lifespan and from diverse multicultural backgrounds. Prerequisites of (NUR 99 or BMS 20) and (CHM 1 or CHM 6) and BIO 7 and BIO 8 and NUR 79, NUR 81, NUR 82 and NUR 84 and Co-requisite of NUR 85L are required.
