An overview course including a history component; a vocal science component; and a practical teaching component. The historical overview begins with 17th century "bel canto" technique and continues through the 20th century, exploring the various schools of singing. The voice science component offers an overview of the anatomy, physiology and acoustics of singing. Each student must keep a journal of his/her one-on-one teaching with a sample lesson performed in class.
