This course provides the student with the knowledge necessary to function in a manual or electronic environment within the Health Information Management field. This includes a discussion of the historical development of medical care, and defining primary and secondary health information. The student learns to analyze, abstract and assess the timeliness and quality of health care data. Instruction on filing systems and controls is also included. Mode of instruction: Online format.
