Twentieth-century German writers and literary movements are studied. The authors studied include Brecht, Weiss, Durrenmatt, Frisch, Hesse, Kafka and Boll. Recent developments in German culture and ideas are discussed and emphasized by reading related material. Prerequisite or co-requisite of GER 24 or the equivalent is required.
