EDI 64B - Play in the Early Childhood Curriculum

Students will gain an understanding of the direct link between play and early childhood development. It will explore the connection between how play supports the curriculum and how the curriculum supports play. The focus will be on theories of play with the goal of developing the whole child. There will be a synthesis of theory and practice. Ten hours of fieldwork will be required. The use of the technology as it relates to teaching and learning will be integrated into the course work. This course will require a writing component. Prerequisites of EDI 14, 15A, 40, 41, and (EDS 44 or 50) are required.
