Introduction to instrumental analysis of physical crime scene evidence. Emphasis is placed on the theory and use of those analytical instruments commonly found in forensic laboratories. Laboratory methods include atomic absorption, mass, infrared and ultraviolet spectrophotometry, column, gas, liquid and thin-layer chromatography. Not open to Chemistry majors. Three hours lecture, four hours laboratory. Prerequisite of CHM 22 and 37 are required. Not open to Chemistry majors.
