Experimental analysis of thermal energy systems, including heat transfer equipment, engines, the University chilling station and the University power plant. Use of a variety of industrial instrumentation for assessment of system and component performance and of experimental uncertainty. Written and oral technical communication of experimental results. Two lecture hours and three laboratory hours a week for one semester. Prerequisite: Mechanical Engineering 339, 139L, 343, and admission to an appropriate major sequence in engineering.
