This course explores cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, and the effects of aging on these systems. Cardiopulmonary dysfunction as a complication of other medical conditions is stressed. Integration of medical laboratory studies, medical diagnoses, graded exercise testing with EKG analysis, and pharmacological factors with PT examination and intervention planning are analyzed. Intervention stresses environmental and lifestyle factors, health and wellness attitudes, and physical therapy as integral to patient and public education.
