Placement into this course is based on the student's performance on the math section of the ACT or a departmental diagnostic test. Introduces the student to the basic concepts of algebra to include real numbers; solving linear equations and inequalities; formulas and applications of algebra; exponents, polynomials, addition and multiplication of polynomials; factoring; rational expressions and equations; graphing linear equations. Three hours of lecture and two of lab. NOTE: Three hours will be added to the degree program of any student taking this course. Grading is on a pass/no credit basis
