Addresses issues related to repeated pathological use of drugs, including alcohol, which causes physical, psychological, economical, legal, and/or social harm to the users or to others affected by the user's behavior. Students will also become familiar with etiology, the diagnosis, and prognosis of various addictive behaviors. Multiple perspectives will be covered ranging from political and legal to scientific and medical to the addicts themselves.
