MEEN 457 - Flight Vehicle Stability/Contr

Institution:
Southern University and A & M College
Subject:
Mechanical Engineering
Description:
Airplane maneuvering is accomplished by changing forces and moments produced by wings and horizontal and vertical tail sections. Control of flight vehicles therefore becomes very challenging for the designers and pilots as well. MEEN 457 teaches students the fundamentals of aerospace feedback control theory, integration of airplane stability matrices and analysis of nonlinear equations of motion, trajectory analysis under various initial conditions, and modes of instability encountered during such motion. Prerequisites: MEEN 271 and 374.
