Available to 2nd and 3rd year students enrolled in the veterinary curriculum. Hands-on and didactic training pertaining to the diseases and medical management of free-ranging wildlife presented to the Wildlife Medical Clinic. Performance will be assessed based on attendance to weekly rounds, lectures, and participation on treatment teams. Students will be required to maintain a case/training journal and prepare a publication-ready manuscript describing a case report or research project chosen in consultation with the instructor(s). Leadership of a treatment team is encourage but not required. Offered for S/U grading only. May be repeated to a maximum of 4 hours. Prerequisite: Active member status in the Wildlife Medical Clinic is required for course enrollment.
