Surgical principles including sterile technique, hemostasis, tissue handling, instrumentation, and wound closure and healing are taught with emphasis on application in domestic and laboratory animals. Laboratory covers demonstration and practice of surgical principles. Students may not receive credit for both VCM 551 and VCM 651. Prerequisite: Graduate standing or consent of instructor.
