Examines the design of anthropological research; covers the philosophical basis of research design, different approaches to framing questions and designing research, sampling, questionnaire design, data collection techniques, research ethics, coding, and general problems of measuring quantitative and qualitative data. 3 undergraduate hours. 3 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: ANTH 220, ANTH 230, ANTH 240, ANTH 270, or ANTH 271 and a course in statistics; or consent of instructor.
