Principles of operation and application of instrumental methods including visible/ultraviolet and infrared spectrophotometry, atomic emission and absorption, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry, gas-liquid and high-performance liquid chromatography, electrochemistry, and data acquisition and instrument control using microcomputers. Prerequisites: CHEM 2302 or 3303; CHEM 3501 or 3511. Two hrs. lect., 6 hrs. lab.
