Description:
This course introduces the structure of molecules through molecular modeling and covers the theoretical prediction of the electronic structure and properties of molecules, the manipulation and visualization of structures, simulation techniques such as molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo methods, and familiarity with commonly used software packages. This course incorporates a workshop based approach within an integrated lecture and computer laboratory format. Prerequisite: Honors standing or permission to attend an honors course and CHE 1046R and CHE 1046L or CHE 1046H or CHE 1046C.
