Physical chemistry explores the underlying physical and mathematical relationships that interconnect a diverse range of chemical concepts. The second semester explores the quantam mechanical nature of atoms and molecules, solutions to the Schrodinger equation, vibrational, rotational, and electronic spectroscopies, the electronic structure of multi-electron atoms and molecules and chemical bonding. Prerequisite: CHE 1046R and CHE 1046 L or CHE 1046C and MAT 1412 or 1412H and MAT 1413 or 1413H. Prerequisite or corequisite: PHY 1031R or PHY 1031H and PHY 1031L or PHY 1041R or PHY 1041H and PHY 1041L or PHY 1-41C and PHY 1042R or PHY 1042R or PHY 1042H & PHY 1042L or PHY 1042C.
