This course will focus mainly on the teaching of Talmud on the secondary level: The course will include the following topics: A historical overview of the role and nature of Talmud study; The place of Talmud within the curriculum; An examination of the structure of the Talmud; Strategies for the teaching of texts and sugyot; Contemporary yeshiva approaches top Talmud study; Use of technology; Chevruta learning; Engaging the student; Creative thinking and analysis; Motivational techniques; Logical thinking; Teaching the challenged; and areas often neglected.
