This class will focus on different types of specialized needs, such as Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Seizure Disorders among others. We will cover the history of the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, attitudes towards developmental disabilities throughout history, and the causes, prevention, and treatment of disorders. We will learn about the challenges and successes of people with various degrees and types of developmental disability in the real world.
