The course Diagnosis Schizophrenia addresses the experiences of clients and families when they first hear the diagnosis of having schizophrenia. The focus of the course is on the social work role in counseling families about assessment, treatments, leagal and social services interventions. Students receive up-to-date information about schizophrenia that includes evidence-based and best practices for working with people whose lives are affected by this disorder. This course is open to all students who have an interest in this disorder and wish to increase their understanding of its impact on clients and families.
