Prereq: either BIOL 211GS or BIOL 400 AND either BIOL 309* OR CHEM 351* and CHEM 351L OR permission of instructor Topics to be covered include: 1) the structural and functional aspects of the immune system, 2) disorders of the immune system, 3) structure and function of antibody molecules, 4) immunobiology of tissue transplants, 5) basic aspects of cancer and cancer therapy that relate to immunology, 6) allergies, and 7) antigen-antibody interaction. Laboratory required. Fee required. Offered Spring only. BIOL 360 strongly recommended.
