An interdisciplinary introduction to the contemporary Middle East, taught in Amman, Jordan, during summer study abroad. In addition to readings and lectures, students learn from speaking with Jordanian activists, politicians, religious leaders, educators, restaurant owners, journalists, refugees, students, and cabdrivers, among others.
