Explores medieval literature's frequent forays beyond ordinary experience in Middle English works by the Pearl-poet, Chaucer, Malory and Langland, as well as anonymous romance and drama. (pre-1700). (Writing-intensive.) Prerequisite, one 200-level course in literature. Not open to first-year students. Maximum enrollment, 20.
