Limits and continuity of functions; introduction of derivative; techniques of differentiation; Chain rule; implicit differentiation; differentiation of transcendental and inverse functions; applications of differentiation: concavity; relative extrema; maximum and minimum values of a function; optimization; antidifferentiation; definite integrals; Fundamental Theorem of Calculus; areas; applications of definite integrals; work and volume. Prerequisite(s): āCā or better in MATH 130 and MATH 131. Note(s): Placement into mathematics courses is based upon placement scores, ACT scores, or a grade of āCā or better in the prerequisite course. Students must consult an advisor before selecting a math course. Entrance requirements will be strictly enforced. Only one mathematics course below the course required for the degree and numbered above 100 may be used for elective credit and only if it is taken before the higher-level course.
