MATH 220 - Basic Calculus

Description:
Functions, graphs, slopes, derivatives, chain rule, areas, integrals, maximum-minimum problems, curve sketching, compound interest, exponents, logarithms, limits, continuity, application of derivatives, integration, technique of integration and introduction to differential equations. Includes material from both 221 and 222, but excludes topics including trigonometry. Not intended for students majoring in mathematics or the physical sciences. Students may not receive credit for both 220 and 221. Prerequisite(s): ā€œCā€ or better in MATH 130 or ACT of 27 or above, or 46 or above on the Delgado Math Placement Test. Note(s): Placement into mathematics courses is based upon placement scores, ACT scores, or a grade of ā€œCā€ or better in the prerequisite course. Students must consult an advisor before selecting a math course. Entrance requirements will be strictly enforced. Only one mathematics course below the course required for the degree and numbered above 100 may be used for elective credit and only if it is taken before the higher-level course.
