Aspects of English literature and its contexts during the reign of Queen Victoria. Genres studied might include poetry, prose fiction, political and philosophical writing. Writers such as the Brontes, Gaskell, Dickens, Eliot, Hardy, Tennyson, the Brownings, Arnold, Carlyle, Ruskin, Gosse, Swinburne, and Hopkins. Maximum 6 credits. Offered as ENGL 330 and ENGL 430.
