An introduction to metal ions in biology and medicine. Topics of emphasis include metalloenzymes, inorganic elements in pharmaceuticals, and physical methods of characterization in biology. Course material will be presented through a seminar format, and will involve extensive class participation, student presentations, and literature research reports. Offered as CHEM 339 and CHEM 439.
