This one unit course investigates ethical behavior in the context of the human resources profession. Consideration is given to the tension between fulfilling the needs of employees and the preservation of the firms best interests. The course will examine ethical decision making in all aspects of the employee's life cycle -- from recruitment through selection, performance appraisal, career management, discipline to the end of the employment relationship through retirement, firing, layoff or voluntary separation.
