Description:
This course prepares the deckhand for safe and competent operation of vessels entering and leaving harbors, steering to a compass course and avoiding collision. Basic navigation skills, marine communication with VHF radio, electronic instrumentation and lookout responsibilities are introduced. This is a required course for the Professional Mariner Program. A facility fee will be charged. This course may be taken two times. Transfer Credit: CSU.
