This course is a follow-up course to Criminal Justice G150 (Introduction to Corrections) and explores practical aspects of the modern correctional environment. It includes concepts of correctional ideology including professionalism, victimology, restorative justice, sentencing, diversion, juveniles in the adult system, and issues related to inmates with special needs. This course also studies the characteristics and needs of male, female, and juvenile inmates, and explores constitutional issues related to these inmate classifications.
