This reading course will best serve English as a Second Language students at the 030/040/050 levels. It focuses on developing key reading strategies within the context of authentic newspaper articles. The exercises that accompany the readings emphasize pre-reading and predicting outcomes, comprehension, scanning, recognizing main ideas, making inferences, and understanding and using contextualized vocabulary.
