Description:
As in the regular course, honors students will study the history of art, beginning with the Italian Renaissance and concluding with modern art. However, additional reading, discussion, written assignments and museum exploration will supplement the work required for the standard Art G106/Humanities G110 course. There will be activities linking our study of Western art history to the Non-Western world and to contemporary culture. The course will also intensify the focus on research, exploration and critical thinking.
