The photo book as a central medium of contemporary photographic practice is explored in this course. Students are exposed to a variety of approaches and viewpoints through presentations by guest photographers, curators, critics, editors, graphic designers, etc... Students will cooperatively shoot 8mm movie films to explore issues of narrative and timing. Each student will propose, develop, and produce a maquette of their work as a final project.
