Prerequisites: ENME E3161 or the equivalent or instructor's permission Principles and methods for designing, building and testing systems to sense the environment. Monitoring the atmosphere, water bodies and boundary interfaces between the two. Sensor systems for monitoring heat and mass flows, chemicals, and biota. Measurements of velocity, temperature, flux and concentration in the field. The class will involve planning and execution of a study to sense a local environmental system.
