"GEOG 20080 Introduction to Political Geography at UCD; This module provides an introduction to the political geography of the postwar world. The module will also assess contemporary world issues through the use of political geographic concepts. Key concepts and theories will be presented to make sense of the main events that have unevenly shaped both the developed and developing world since World War 2. The module will focus on the relationship between political processes and economic, social, cultural and environmental factors that have shaped the world at various scales (local, national, regional and global). By the end of this module, students will have: 1. Developed an understanding of the main political events that have shaped the world post world war II, with a focus on current events. 2. Become aware of and applied key concepts and theories in political geography. 3. Developed critical thinking and reading skills."
